The week is now in full swing, take a look at some of the pictures from our events here.

From Sunday 23 to 30 April, Christ Church will be hosting an art-related event called "The Heart of Things" in partnership with the artist Paul Hobbs. This is an exhibition of celebratory abstracts and works that consider contemporary social issues in the light of biblical values. Throughout the week, a variety of daytime and evening events offer specific opportunities to bring friends to meet Paul Hobbs, hear him talk about his art and discuss some issues raised in his work.

 

SUNDAY 23 APRIL

6.30pm Evening Service: The Heart of Things

  • Contempory style, with talk exploring the themes from the exhibition.

7.30-9.30pm Crafted

  • An informal evening with artist Paul Hobbs.
  • Mexican food van, craft beers & local ciders, plus live music

7.30-9.30pm Private View

  • Invitation event with Paul Hobbs speaking about his art

TUESDAY 25 APRIL

8-10pm Late Cafe

  • Brief presentation by Paul Hobbs about some of his artwork.
  • Enjoy a choice of coffees, teas and muffins.

12.15-2pm Lunch+ Art

  • Hear Paul Hobbs speak about his artwork.
  • Share a delicious buffet salad lunch

8-10pm Late Cafe

  • Brief presentation by Paul Hobbs about some of his artwork.
  • Enjoy a choice of coffees, teas and muffins.

THURSDAY 27 APRIL

3.30-5.15pm Teacher's Briefing

  • Twilight event exploring cross-curricular opportunities for teaching art and RE

  • Join our regular Thursday night group with a special welcome for internationals.

7.30-9pm Youth Event

  • Chill out with our regular groups: Pathfinders (11-14s) and Grafted (14-18s).
  • Explore Art and meet Paul Hobbs.

SATURDAY 29 APRIL

  • 10am - 12 noon Art Cafe
  • View the exhibition and meet Paul Hobbs.
  • Exciting art activities linked to the exhibition, for different ages up to 15.
  • Enjoy a selection of coffees, teas and pastries.

  • 7.30-9.45pm Gallery Dinner
  • Sample multiple courses of delicious, freshly-prepared sweet&savoury 'bowl food' as you look around the exhibition.
  • Live music and an interview with Paul Hobbs.

  • 9.30pm & 11.15 Morning Services
  • Group activities for 3-11s and 11-14s, and creche during the service.
  • Followed by tea and coffee.

Following the exhibition, do you or your friends have any further questions about arts, Christianity or God? Join us these coming Mondays for 2 evenings exploring those big questions, while drawing examples from art. A light meal is also included.
