Giving at Christ Church

In a growing church like Christ Church, there's a temptation to feel that your contribution doesn't make much difference. However, financing the ministry is dependent on the giving of our whole church family, and we encourage every member of Christ Church to consider making some contribution to support the ministry.

What the Bible says about giving

If the idea of giving financially is new, this booklet explores what the Bible says about giving and how your money will be used to support the gospel ministry here at Christ Church. Giving booklet

How to give

The most helpful way to support Christ Church is to set up a standing order with your bank. Once you have decided how much to donate to the church, you can set up the arrangement with your bank and then they will automatically process your gifts each month in accordance with your instructions. It therefore saves you time, means that you don’t forget when life is busy and it helps the church with it’s financial planning.

You can quickly set up a standing order using your online or telephone banking and by quoting the bank account information below.

Recipient: St Andrew the Less PCC
Sort code: 40-52-40
Account no: 00022845 (CAF Bank Ltd)
If you are able to enter a reference, please use your surname and first initial.

If possible, please also complete a giving form so we know you have started to give and are clear on your gift aid status. The form is available to download using the link at the bottom of this page. Either print out a hard copy or e-mail your completed form to our Finance Manager, Tarita Smallwod.

You can also make one-off gifts by cheque, charity account or direct bank transfer. Cheques should be made payable to 'St Andrew the Less PCC' (our legal name) and passed to a member of staff to put in the Finance Manager’s pigeon hole in the church office.

Tax-Efficient Giving / Gift Aid

We can reclaim from the Inland Revenue the basic rate tax that donors have paid on their donations if they complete a Gift Aid Declaration form: Giving form. To qualify for Gift Aid you must pay UK income tax (and/or capital gains tax) at least equal to the tax reclaimed on your donations. There is no minimum amount or minimum term for Gift Aid.

If you pay tax at the higher rate you can claim further tax relief when submitting your annual tax return. We cannot do this on your behalf.

If you are unsure whether you qualify for Gift Aid or you have any questions about tax-efficient giving, or if you need to cancel your Gift Aid Declaration, please contact the Finance Manager:
