We are hiring: Associate Minister for Music

We are looking for a committed Christian believer to lead our music ministry and music team as part of a diverse, Bible-believing church family seeking to Grow in Christ, Love his people and Share our hope

Our music ministry is a central aspect of our corporate worship, and we are looking for someone to oversee and continue developing this, working with a team of around 40 musicians and particularly seeking to lead through other leaders. 

The role 

Hours: This could be a part-time role (3-4 days), focused primarily on music ministry, or a full-time role with additional pastoral responsibilities.  

We are open to considering other areas of ministry which may fit well with the church’s vision and needs, and the experience and gifting of the person appointed. 

Salary: A 4 days/week role would attract a salary in the range £27,000-£33,000. The salary range would be adjusted pro rata for a different number of working days. 

Pension: 10% Employer contribution 

Annual leave: A 4 days/week role would attract 24 days p.a. annual leave plus pro-rated paid bank holidays. No more than 6 Sundays may be taken as leave in any holiday year. 

An Occupational Requirement exists for the post-holder to be a practising Christian in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.   

Christ Church Cambridge is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. As part of this, an enhanced DBS Disclosure (with barred list check) will be required for the successful applicant. 

Appointment is also subject to the right to work in the UK.

The training scheme is designed to give volunteers the experience of what work within church ministry is like. Join us for a one or two year full-time training scheme, in a local church context, seeking to make disciples of Jesus Christ in Cambridge, the nations and the next generation.

Training in…

…Church Ministry

Serving and leading in an area of ministry alongside an experienced mentor. Options include: Children, Youth, 18-30s, Music and Seniors.

…Theology

Attending the 'Training for East Anglia Ministry' course one day per week as well as guided 'study projects' on theological topics.

…Practical Service

Undertaking a variety of practical tasks to serve the church family and support our ministry and mission.
