Staff and Church Officers
Christ Church Cambridge runs thanks to the service of many people but we are also fortunate to have a wonderful staff team. Here are some words about each of them so that you can get an idea of the kind of people we are.

I’m David, married to Julia and we have two growing boys and a wee dog. I’ve been part of Christ Church since 2018 and became vicar in 2022. I love the diversity of the church family and it’s been a joy to be part of it and see people from all kinds of backgrounds welcomed and hear about God’s love in Jesus. Outside of the responsibilities with the church family I’m often trying to give a bit of time to exercise and a lot more time to BBQ. Hope to see you one Sunday.

Hey, I’m Scott and I have the awesome role of looking after the youth at Christ Church! A while ago I used to be a history teacher (greatest subject ever) but now I have the joy of helping young people grow in their love of Jesus here, as well as having a decent bit of banter together. I am married to Louise, and we have 3 kids who keep us on our toes. They are less stressful than supporting Newcastle United though!

Hi, I'm Fiona. Here at Christ Church you'll find me with the littlest in our church family (0-11s) as together we seek, alongside their families, to be a church where they can know the depths of Jesus' love for them and follow him with their lives. I’m also involved in our Tuesday Central group where my role involves encouraging 18-30s to grow in knowing Christ and love each other. I've been in Cambridge for 4 years having left a life by the seaside but I love that there is always someone new to meet here in the city.

Hi, I'm Rachel. I come from Gloucestershire but lived for many years in the Netherlands growing up. I became a Christian as a teenager after hearing a talk on the Cross of Christ at a mission. My responsibilities include overseeing the Women's Morning Bible study groups, our Seniors ministry and serving on our Mission Support Group. In my spare time I love any kind of wild swimming with friends, experimenting with new recipes and reading cosy crime novels with cat on lap (usually).

Hi, I’m Darren. I was born in Scunthorpe, became a Christian as a student, and have now lived in Cambridge for over 20 years! I'm married to Elspeth and we have two children. I work part-time for Christ Church as part of the pastoral team, where I have particular responsibility for our small group ministry and our safeguarding. Alongside this I am an ordinand (a trainee vicar!), training part-time at Ridley Hall for ordained ministry in the Church of England.

Hi, I’m Niv, the Senior Associate Minister. As well as being one of our ordained ministers, part of my role involves helping the Church grow in Christ, and in sharing our hope in Him with Cambridge. I’m married to Lucy and we have three lovely, loud children. I love bad jokes, reading, watching and talking about films and drinking coffee.
-
Hello, I’m Alex. I'm from Australia, but here in Cambridge with Katie and our three young kids while Ι write a PhD in early Christian history and theology. That keeps me busy much of the week, but I also serve in ministry here at Christ Church and at Clare College Chapel. In a rare quiet moment you might find me with a cup of tea, a pastry and a book - but I do miss Sydney beaches!
-
Hello. I’m Steve and am married to Beth. We’ve lived in Cambridge for over 20 years and have three adult children – two married and one in supported living up in Peterborough. A long time ago I worked in psychiatry which shaped my involvement with Biblical Counselling UK (a charity that I serve as Executive Director for 4 days a week). At Christ Church, I preach and am involved in pastoral care. At other times you might find me running on the towpath or out rowing in a single scull.

Hey, I'm Callum, and I'm one of the Associate Ministers. I have the joy of looking after our music here at Christ Church. I'm originally from Glasgow, but lived in Edinburgh for the past 7 years where I studied at Art College and worked in student ministry, before moving to Cambridge in Summer 2026. My office days are Sunday to Friday, but when I'm not at work you'll find me at the Picturehouse; hunting down some good coffee; or trying something new in the kitchen.

Hello, my name is Dawn, and my role at Christ Church is Head of Operations I have been part of the church family at Christ Church since 2011. Talk to me about any of the following things: you are new and keen to find out more about Christ Church; being part of the Welcome Team; My ChurchSuite - our platform that allows you to see rotas, events, church family and other helpful information; booking the building for a large event; the logistics for weddings, funerals & baptisms

My wife, Man Yi, and I are originally from Hong Kong and are the parents of two young children. We first joined Christ Church in 2017 when I took up a Ministry Trainee role. My current role is split between looking after the building and helping Internationals settle and be part of the church family. I find enjoyment in both the delicate art of bonsai cultivation and DIY projects—though Man Yi sometimes suggests I should just stick to the first one.
-
Hello, Susie here! I’m involved with lots of the ‘behind the scenes’ support within Christ Church, plus I also get to see lots of the church family at midweek activities, which I love! Please get in touch if you have queries about regular or smaller bookings. I’m around every weekday until early afternoon, waving at you from the office!
-
Hi, I’m Hannah. I’ve been coming to Christ Church for over 20 years, so am one of the oldest members of the church family despite being the youngest on the staff team!
If I’m not in the office, at Tuesday Central or serving on the youth team; then I’ll be reading a book somewhere with a chai latte in hand, or hiking.

Hi, I'm Bente and I have the pleasure of overseeing the finances and HR of our church, having taken on the role in 2024, which includes working with the wonderful group of volunteers who make up our Finance Team. My husband, JP, and I joined the church in 2019, and we have 2 young boys. I'm originally from Norway and grew up on a small dairy farm in a village of 100 people up in the arctic circle. If you've heard me lead church services in the past, you may already know that I enjoy talking about cows and football...
