Church Family Prayer
Jesus told His disciples, ‘apart from me you can do nothing’ (John 15:5). Our confidence is not in ourselves or our resources, but in God on whom we depend. For that reason, Church Family Prayer is our most significant midweek gathering. Once a month (normally the second Wednesday), we come together in the building and online to pray, as a whole Church family, for His work in and through us. There are refreshments from 7.40pm, and then we pray from 8pm.
Prayer, speaking to our Heavenly Father who loves us and knows just what we need, must be right at the heart of a Christian’s life and of everything we seek to do as a church family. At the same time, most of us find prayer hard and we want to be helping one another to grow in prayerfulness.
Alongside our monthly prayer meeting and small groups, here are some of the ways we seek to encourage one another to pray:
Thursday morning prayer meeting
Meeting each week, 7.15–8am, in the church building to pray that the Lord would revive us, our church family and our city and nation. All welcome!
Prayer diary
Each month we make available a diary with a few brief pointers for prayer each day. Do pick up a paper copy from church or download it from our weekly newsletter.
PrayerMate
Many are helped by using PrayerMate, an app that helps us get organised to pray. You can find it in the Apple Store or Play Store.
