Outreach & Mission

Evangelism

We host different events throughout the year especially with the guest in mind. These will often lead into a Christianity Explored course which we run to introduce those who are keen to investigate further.

We also aim to make all our Sunday services as welcoming and accessible as possible so those who are new to the Christian faith can relax and feel at home.

Finally, every follower of Jesus has their own story and we delight to train and equip one another to share Jesus with those that have yet to meet him.

Mission Support

We equip the church family by raising awareness of world mission, both at home and overseas, encouraging people to pray and build close partnerships between church family and our mission partners.

We support our mission partners, with a focus on those called to long-term service and encouraging others in short-term mission and supporting the evangelistic activities of organisations in this country and overseas.

We help individuals discern a calling to the mission field and part of our budget is set aside for short term mission trips.

Meet our mission partners…

Anbesan Hoole

I am Anbesan Hoole, working as a Missionary Doctor at Bach Christian Hospital, in rural Northern Pakistan. I work with a team of local Christians, and a few fellow international colleagues to witness to the love of Christ through good quality and affordable medical care. Through the Covid 19 pandemic I ran a Respiratory Support Unit and am now working to develop a Respiratory Unit. I am involved in discipleship in my local church, Jesus the Holy Lamb Fellowship.

Matt Moury

Who are you?
M: My name is Matt Moury. I attended in Christ Church from 2015-2016 when I was working as a Reach Volunteer with Friends International Cambridge.
D: My name is Dorcas Moury, I'm happily married to Matt. I originally come from the Congo (DRC), but I've lived in Europe (Belgium, France) for the past 10 years.

Where are you serving?
M: I used to work as an Assistant Pastor at the Eglise Evangelique Baptiste in Lyon. Now I'm pastoring Eglise protestante baptiste d'Argenteuil, an evangelical church near Paris. Besides that, I'm studying at Faculté Jean Calvin, a Reformed seminary.
D: I'm serving at Eglise Pain de Vie (Bread of Life Church) in Epinay-sur-Seine (France).

What are you doing there?
M: I am in charge of looking after the church. I'm involved in various areas: preaching, leading worship, counseling, visiting etc. Besides that, I'm collaborating with different ministries including Evangile 21 (The Gospel Coalition) as a writer and Youtuber. If you understand French you can check my channel Théologie pour tous as well as my podcast Le Café Théo. I am also one of the editors of Éditions Clé, a French evangelical book publisher as well as Point Théo, a French evangelical blog. As from 2023, I will teaching an online systematic theology course at Montréal's Faculté de Théologie Évangélique, an evangelical seminary.
D: I'm part of the pastoral team. I do a lot of visiting and counseling.

Margaret Rugira

Who are you?
My name is Margaret Rugira. I was a ministry trainee in Christ Church from 2011-2012.

Where are you serving?
I have been working with OMF International since 2012. This is my third assignment. I am currently living in Sendai, Japan.

What are you doing there?
I am part of Sendai Student Focus, an OMF ministry seeking to reach out to students at the Universities and colleges in Sendai; sharing the gospel with them in a variety of ways. We seek to do this by partnering with those in the universities and colleges themselves and in partnership with the local church, Christian academics and the University Christian Union group (KGK) to encourage us to work together to reach out to the universities and colleges.

Nicolas and Muriel Inard

Who are you?
We are Nicolas and Muriel (and our cats Keswick and Tromsø). We were members of the Christ Church family from 2012 until 2022. Muriel did two years of ministry traineeship initially and worked several different roles on the staff team over the years.

Where are you serving?
We have joined Ambassador International Church in the great city of Hong Kong.

What are you doing there?
Muriel is the families' worker in Ambassador International Church. Nicolas works in a secular job sharing the gospel at work through friendship and movie nights.

Myers Family

Who are you?
We are the Myers family (left to right: Katy, Jos, Seth, Pete, and Levi). We were part of the church family here from 2013 while Pete was a curate at Christ Church and studied for a PhD at Cambridge University.

What are you doing there?
We are serving with the Mission agency Teach Beyond and are currently on Home Assignment.

Thompson Family

Who are you?
Ben, Suzy, Molly, Dylan and Finn Thompson.

Where are you serving?
We have been in Singapore since September 2021

What are you doing there?
Ben is teaching Old Testament and Hebrew at ETCAsia, equipping men and women to be gospel workers for Singapore and the region of South East Asia.

JP Sivertsen-Wright

JP Sivertsen-Wright is a Regional Team Leader with the Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship (UCCF) leading the work in the Central Region, which encompasses the Universities in and around Cambridge, Oxford, Norwich and Essex. After serving in student mission in the North East and Yorkshire for 5 years with UCCF, JP moved to Cambridge with his wife, Bente. UCCF aims to give every student the opportunity to hear and respond to the good news of Jesus through equipping students to live and speak for Jesus on their campuses. JP is primarily responsible for developing the team of staff working in the Universities across the Central Region, speaking at evangelistic events and leading the training of student leaders regionally.

St Andrew’s Kendray

St Andrew’s Kendray is a busy and growing church in the middle of a council estate in Barnsley. Their vicar Pete Jackson, his wife Sharon and their children Ben, Rosie, and Sam were called to serve the gospel in the local community in 2007.

St John’s Orchard Park

St John’s Orchard Park is a church plant from Christ Church Cambridge. Chris Lowe was formerly a curate at Christ Church. In 2013, Chris and his wife Meg and their two daughters Emily and Sophie, led a small group of people from Christ Church to establish a church in Orchard Park, seeking to share the love of God through the gospel of Jesus Christ with the local community.

Terrington St Clement Parish Church

Terrington St Clement Parish Church is a local family parish church in Norfolk, and has an ongoing gospel partnership with Christ Church Cambridge.

The vicar of the church, Robert Slipper, and his wife Helen have been serving the church since 2001. They are supported by the youth and families minister Mark Paxton and his wife Emma in gospel partnership.

Anglia Ruskin CU +

The Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) Christian Union is a student group affiliated to UCCF. They seek to encourage Christian students to live and speak for Jesus at ARU Cambridge; to give every student at ARU the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Christian Heritage +

Based at the historic Round Church in the heart of Cambridge, Christian Heritage is a community commending the gospel of Christ with all of its implications both to the university and the wider public, through vibrant community, practical hospitality and thoughtful discourse.

Friends International +

Friends International is a Christian charity which supports international students in the UK by equipping churches and volunteers to serve, minister, and engage with international students.
They operate in almost 40 university towns and cities across the UK and have over 60 full and part-time workers befriending and supporting international students.
Christ Church hosts The Barn, which is an international Cafe every Thursday Evening.

GenR8 +

GenR8 is an organisation of volunteers who take assembly presentations and other ministries into primary schools in Cambridgeshire.
They are a local mission organisation which reaches out to 40,000 children each term. Their work is very much about the great commission to ‘GO’ (Matthew 28:19) and they aim for a high level of professionalism and competence in all that they do.

9:38 +

9:38 was set up in response to Jesus’ command to his disciples in Matthew 9:38: "Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."
To help Christian men and women consider how they can be the answer to this prayer, 9:38 runs conferences, provides resources on their website, and supports local churches as they establish and run ministry trainee programmes
