Accessibility
Welcome to Christ Church! We are seeking to be a church family that is as accessible as possible for people with any kind of disability or additional need. We want to make it as easy as we can for anyone to hear the good news of Jesus and feel that they belong. We know we are still very much a work in progress, but we are wanting to grow!
Below is some accessibility information about our church building. If you are thinking of coming along to one of our services and you have a particular need or disability, please feel free to get in touch – we would be happy to try and meet with you beforehand to see how we can help you to feel more welcome.
Our front entrance is step-free with wide double doors. You will be greeted on the way in by one of our Host team, who will be glad to help with any accessibility needs you have. Assistance dogs are welcome.
Our services take place upstairs. There are 18 steps.
A lift is available for those who want to use it. In case of fire, we have an emergency evacuation chair with a number of our staff team trained in its use.
Our services typically last about an hour. Our song words and prayers are displayed on overhead screens. Printed copies are available for those who appreciate that and large print is available on request.
We have a hearing induction loop for those with hearing aids. Our meeting space is bright and well-lit.
Children’s groups take place part way through the service in the downstairs hall. A host team member will be able to direct you. If you child has any additional needs it would be helpful to know about, please do get in touch using the link above so we can be ready to welcome them.
Our toilets are on the ground floor near to the lift. There are a number of individual cubicles, including an accessible toilet. Baby changing facilities are also available.
After the service, refreshments are served both upstairs and in the downstairs hall.
Here is a virtual tour of our church building to help you visualise it before you visit.
